An M.F.A. in Art History is a terminal degree.  It is a research degree with a studio component, therefore it is considered hybrid.  Cynthia Costa's graduate degree consisted of 90 hours of graduate level coursework in art history with additional credit hours in graduate level studio classes (i.e. materials and techniques) which complemented her art history research. The M.F.A. required two internships and dissertation-level research for the M.F.A. thesis, in addition to comprehensive exams and language proficiency exams.


Cynthia Costa, M.F.A. Art History has worked in higher education since 2009 at Georgia Southern University, where she has graduate faculty status and the rank of Principle Lecturer of Art History.  She has additional professional certifications as an ACUE educator and QM reviewer.


Cynthia Costa, M.F.A. Art History has expertise in the history of ancient art with primary specialization in Egyptian art and architecture,  and secondary specializations in Roman and Early Christian and Byzantine art and architecture.
